What are reproductive health services?

Crawford County Health Department plays a critical role in promoting reproductive health and empowering individuals to make informed choices regarding their reproductive well-being. We offer contraception, contract tracing, and education from trained professionals. Our services are to prevent unwanted pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). Sexually transmitted infections are a health concern for Wisconsin, especially among young adults 15-24 years old.  

What contraceptive methods do you offer?

We offer latex condoms (free of charge) to residents of Crawford County, Wisconsin. Birth Control can be obtained by contacting your healthcare provider. *Crawford County Health Department does NOT offer female birth control contraceptive. 

Do you offer pregnancy tests?

No, pregnancy tests can be purchased over-the-counter for minimal cost. Free pregnancy tests can be scheduled through Clarity Clinic of Platteville or Planned Parenthood of La Crosse.

What if I suspect I have a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)?

If you have symptoms or have been exposed, it's important to take prompt action. First, get tested. Schedule a appointment with your healthcare provider or contact Clarity Clinic of Platteville or Planned Parenthood of La Crosse, where you can privately and easily book your appointment online. *Crawford County Health Department does NOT test for STI.

What happens if I have a Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI)?

Crawford County Health Department is responsible to follow up on persons diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections (STI’s). Individuals are interviewed, provided with education and preventative measures to help maintain health and wellness. Resources are made known and referrals are made as needed. Sexual contacts are attempted to be contacted and interviewed in the same manner with the goal being to stop spread of disease. Confidentiality is important and always maintained.
