Couleecap serves Crawford County by offering housing and financial support programs, including mortgage assistance through the Wisconsin Help for Homeowners program, homebuyer counseling, down payment and closing cost aid. They also provide homeless assistance and homeless prevention programs, in addition to support for individuals with mental illness seeking Social Security Disability benefits.
Homeless Assistance & Prevention Programs
For individuals and families who are currently homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless, this program offers support in finding safe, temporary shelter and transitioning to permanent, stable housing, and financial assistance. Assistance may include help with back rent, security deposits, or other housing-related emergencies to keep people in their homes.
Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
This program provides financial assistance to help eligible households pay a portion of their heating and electric energy costs.
This programs helps individuals and families become successful homeowners. These programs can provide assistance with down payments, mortgage counseling, and navigating the home-buying process.
