Passages RC, Inc. provides free, confidential services to any victim of crime, especially domestic violence or sexual assault, recent or past. Passages provides advocacy services to any person in the community regardless of age, gender, race, color, religion, culture, national origin, sexual orientation, economic status, or the presence of any sensory, mental or physical disability. Services include crisis intervention, emergency shelter, advocacy-based counseling, court, medical and social services advocacy, support groups, children’s advocacy and community education and prevention.

The Salvation Army Emergency Shelter provides short-term emergency shelter for up to 64 persons experiencing homelessness. We serve individuals and families with children. Our shelter intakes are between 8am - 8pm. We operate on a first come, first served basis and availability changes throughout the day. To access shelter, please call 608-782-6126 and ask to speak with shelter.  If you are unable to call, you can present at 223 N. 8th Street, LaCrosse.

If you are experiencing homelessness, please complete the Program Eligibility Prescreen so our team can determine your eligibility for available services. Couleecap also provides limited financial assistance to help prevent eviction or loss of housing. Households may be eligible for help with past-due rent, first month’s rent, security deposits, or utility bills in disconnect status.

Emergency Assistance (EA) is a one-time payment that can help low-income eligible individuals with minor children that are homeless or have an eviction or foreclosure notice or who have experienced a flood, fire, or other natural disaster, or energy crisis.  To be eligible for an Emergency Assistance payment, you must not have received an Emergency Assistance payment in the past 12 months.
