Traffic Ordinance Violations

Appearance is not required on most traffic and ordinance citations unless otherwise indicated.
If you do not appear in court on the date printed on your citation, a default judgment and a plea of guilty/no contest will be entered. The fine/forfeiture will be due within 60 days from judgment.
If you wish to contest your ticket, a written plea of "not guilty" will be accepted by fax, mail or in person. A court trial will then be scheduled. Negotiations may be initiated by the District Attorney prior to the court trial.
